San Diego’s The Wad Squad was born from a weekly series of jam sessions among friends high on downtempo hip-hop and krautrock. DJ Lotus (bass, samples), Nate (samples) and Grant (guitars) found a unique home for their initial recordings – the soundtracks to locally produced adult films. While the recordings on the 12” were initially released on VHS as a score to all kinds of on-screen hijinks, the EP struck a different mood amongst late ‘90s fans of the MoWax label and Can reissues.
